Happy Retirement and Congratulations to Lynne Holt

Happy Retirement and Congratulations to Lynne Holt

We were very sad to say goodbye but wished a Happy Retirement to our Transplant Coordinator Lynne Holt this month.

She has worked tirelessly for the Heart and Lung Transplant programme at Freeman Hospital for 26 years.

Lynne was the first clinical transplant coordinator in the UK when she came to work for the Freeman for both adults and children.

Her involvement with transplantation started 33 years ago when she was a Sister at Papworth Hospital.

She may have been your coordinator while you were waiting for a transplant but if not most of you will know her from all the extra work she does voluntary promoting Transplant Sport, Organ Donation and the British and World Transplant games. She has a great relationship with the local media.

She is also the team manger for team Great Britain and will be encouraging them all in Argentina later this month.

She will be missed around Freeman Hospital but she assures us that her work with promoting Organ Donation and TS is not over.

We were very proud to see her awarded the Peter Griffin award at the NewcaslteGateshead games for her work with  Transplant Sport while promoting organ donation.

In fact she received a standing ovation as she went up to receive her award from all the audience.

She then went into the green room with Jeremy Kyle to convince him to join the organ donor register.

Thanks again Lynne for all your hard work and commitment to Heart and Lung Transplantation and promoting organ donation.

Best wishes for the future
